Foundation
for has several active
programs in different areas and through these varied programs it.....
Provides, updates and maintains, through the
corporate sponsoring services of HSH Page, this interactive website aimed at
giving Burned Children, parents or concerned visitors, a platform to interact with
Foundation volunteers, health and fire professionals and each other.
It conducts year round ongoing burn and fire
awareness, education and prevention events in major retail businesses throughout Ontario
and Québec.
Maintains a year round computer gifting program for
Burned Children deemed to be in psychological, clinical or social isolation. These multi
media computer systems are state of the art, come complete with monitor and color jet
printer and FREE Internet time for the young patients and are given to the child
completely free of charge.
Is actively present every month at hospital clinics
such as Montreal's Ste. Justine Hospital's Plastie clinic with a view to bringing support
to and interaction with parents of burned children and the victims themselves.
Participates in several community events such as Fire
Chiefs and Fire Fighters Conventions and several high-profile public events.
Is structuring a Fire Fighter/Burned Child sponsor
program that would allow a Fire Department or Service to become the active sponsor of a
particular young burned victim.
Taking steps to bring forward, through a major
national corporate sponsor, the design, building, completion and operation of two mobile
fire simulators (Fire Houses) that will be moved, weekly, from city to city, with a view
to bringing burn and fire prevention and awareness to children across Ontario and Québec.
Maintains close and active ties with Fire Fighting
professionals through its membership with such high profile Associations as National Fire
Prevention Association (NFPA), Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC), Ontario
Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC), Fire Fighters Association of Ontario (FFAO) and the
newly formed Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA)
