TOMA
Foundation for Burned Children

This is the reprint of the article in this issue...
In just a few weeks, the TOMA Foundation
for Burned Children will be officially launching its new revamped and redesigned web site
presently at www.fondtomafound.org. The present site was originally written in 1996 and
became operational at the Foundations launch in 1997. In these days of constantly changing
technological advances, a professional redesign was overdue.
The new site will have been a year in
planning, development and redesign (incorporating the latest in Flash and Direct-X
technology) and this major achievement was made possible by a corporate donation from
Danny Ang President of Add Value International Inc. (www.addvalue.com) leaders in
E-Business Solutions globally, with offices located at 1515 Matheson Blvd. East, Suite 202
in Mississauga.
Thanks to the major contribution of
Underwriters Labs Inc. (UL), the site will feature their "Room by Room Home Safety tips" checklist in Adobe
Acrobat .PDF format so that any visitor to the web site can complete the
safety" checklist online. Thanks to Underwriters Labs, this document in also
available in hard copy, at no cost, from the Foundations Offices and is also
available at any of the Foundations corporate or community events
The index page of the Foundations new web site will
offer the online viewer a choice of
either English or French content aimed at
adults or youngsters and the Kids" section will be oriented to the sites
younger audience and was designed with young burn victims in mind. Because these young
victims are often in clinical, psychological or social isolation, this section will aim at
breaking these barriers.
This is also where TOMA will be
introducing its new MASCOT on the web site and a contest to give the mascot a name.
Details can be found on the "Contest" page in the Kids
section. Fantastic prizes for the winning entrants will include donations from such
major Corporations as: Corel, Dreamcatcher Interactive Games, Last Logos.
If you wish to have your web site linked
