Founded in 1909, The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) is the national public service association dedicated to reducing the loss of life and property from fire, and advancing the science and technology of the Fire and Emergency Service in Canada. The mission of the CAFC is to "strive for excellence in representation, information, education and service delivery to its members and customers." CAFC is an independent, non-profit organisation with a voluntary membership.
The official magazine of the C.V.F.S.A. is the "Volunteer Voice " and the Foundation is most grateful to its Managing Editor for contributing a full page section in each issue of the magazine to the Foundation's activities and events. NFPA is a world-wide leader in providing fire, electrical, and life safety to the public. Established in 1896, the mission of the international, non-profit, member organisation is to reduce the world-wide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by developing and advocating scientifically based consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education.
The support and the co-operation of Fire Chiefs across Ontario have been most valuable to the Foundation.
