6TH ANNUAL TOMA RIDE FOR Burned Kids

The 2008 TOMA RIDE saw our Riders bring in over $ 7,800 gross.

How well can we do in 2009 ????

.- Our Milton stopover was at the Mohawk Slots and we wanted to let everyone know that all our riders conformed to the OLG policy of not wearing their colours.

.- Sept. 17th 2008: It was indeed a pleasure seeing John Derringer again as an invited guest on his radio show this morning. John is a fervent supporter of the TOMA Foundation for Burned Children and its RIDE and we value his support deeply. Unfortunately, Sept. 21st is John's Birthday and he will be spending the day with his family.

.- Once again, TOMA was present at SUPERSHOW 2008 held this year on Jan. 4th, 5th and 6th at the International Centre in Mississauga. Hundreds of our riding buddies and friends dropped by to get their 2008 TOMA RIDE flyer and pledge sheet and were be greeted by volunteers of the Red Knights Chapter One-Toronto and Fourteen-Hamilton as well as Jim Friend, President of Red Knights Hamilton Chapter and by Jenna, David and Michel, our TOMA volunteers. The event was a great success and we are looking forward to the Spring Show.

.- Jim Campbell of Paris was our number one biker again in 2008 (fourth year in a row !!!!) bringing in over $ 1,500.00 in pledges for the TOMA Kids and he received, for the third year in a row, the Jennifer Sultana Memorial Award given out to the Rider with the most in pledges. Jim was the highest pledge bearer FOUR years in a row. GREAT JOB, Jim !!!

. -    "We've listened to you" and at your request, we have made some changes to our route. The altered route has been posted on the RIDE index page. Our ending point was, again in 2008, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. Raffle tickets were sold at the Museum and the lucky winner won a one year $ 300.00 membership which includes a ride in a Harvard or Steerman war plane and also allows the member to visit the museum free of charge for one year as well as receiving the museum's newsletter. See pics of the planes here and here.
